“Offering Laboratory Services Close to Home”
At Parkview Hospital Laboratory, we are here to serve you, and we are happy to help. Whether your physician is located in Wheeler County, or out of town, we can take care of your needs. We are proud to work with outside physicians, who can give you an order for the lab work you need, or they can fax it to us at 806-826-3201. Once we have completed your lab testing, we will fax the results straight to your physician. We are able to do recurring orders for any therapeutic monitoring for blood levels, for example INR.
We provide a wide range of testing in house, and any labs that are not available in-house will be sent to our reference laboratory, LabCorp.
Tips for the day of your blood draw:
- Drink plenty of water the night before.
- Get a good night’s rest.
- Eating normally beforehand can also help to make the procedure easier unless the testing requires that you not eat for 10-12 hours beforehand (also known as fasting).
- If you are required to fast for your lab work, water or BLACK coffee are usually okay to drink. However, it is best to consult with your physician first.
- If you are uncomfortable with needles, let the person drawing your blood know, and we will try to make you as comfortable as possible.
- Once your blood is drawn, keep the Coban on your arm for 15-20 minutes, to ensure the bleeding has stopped.
- Any lab work done in-house is typically done within an hour.
