Our Swing Bed Program was created specifically to meet that need for our community, providing skilled nursing and rehabilitation services right here in Wheeler, so you don’t have to travel far to receive exceptional healthcare.
Patients may qualify for swing bed services following a 3-midnight inpatient stay in any hospital within the last 30 days, in accordance with Medicare guidelines.

Depending on your needs, your care may include:
To help regain strength, mobility, daily living skills, and communication abilities.
Medication administration, assessments, and daily assistance tailored to your recovery.
Including advanced dressing changes, osmotic/stoma care, and wound vac management.
Oxygen therapy, weaning assistance, and support for chronic respiratory conditions.
To qualify for care in a skilled facility your physician must certify that you need daily skilled care, such as IV therapy or physical therapy.
• Days 1-20: Medicare covers 100% of these charges. You pay nothing for the first 20 days of each benefit period.
• Days 21-100: Medicare covers 80% of these charges. You pay a co-pay per day from day 21 to 100 of each benefit period. Your secondary insurance if you have one, may pick up these charges.
• After 100 days of each benefit period, you pay 100% of the charges.
